Austin Parks Foundation will host the final Movie in the Park screening on Dec. 5.

What to know

The free movie screening will be showcasing the 2018 animated film “The Grinch” just in time for the holiday season.

Before the movie starts at 6 p.m., attendees can participate in a holiday art activity by Painting Pandas, take part in an Austin Humane Society donation drive for shelter animals with adoptable puppies on site and receive one of the 100 free bags of popcorn courtesy of Cornucopia Popcorn.

Mini-donut food truck DonutNV and soft serve ice cream trailer Connor’s Creamery will be present for those looking to buy a treat throughout the evening.

The background

The family-friendly summer series offers free movie screenings around Austin and encourages attendees to bring blankets, lawn chairs, picnics and leashed dogs.

The series started its 2024 showings in April with a screening of Disney/Pixar's "Elemental" at Dick Nichols District Park.
