Carnitas El Guero, a restaurant created by Gustavo Reyes, opened on Parmer Lane in early September and began offering fast-casual Mexican food.

One of the bestselling items on the menu is the carnitas combo, which features pork fried in its own lard in a copper pan with herbs. Other popular menu items include tacos, quesadillas, tostadas, gorditas, doraditas and pozole. Drinks such as agua frescas in various flavors are also available at Carnitas El Guero.

The new restaurant replaced the former Filipino quick-bite eatery Carabao Express.
