Jennifer House, owner of Fixe Southern House and HissyFit, said the new concept restaurant will open in The Arboretum this fall and offer breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The popular Texas BBQ restaurant is celebrating their first location’s 10 year anniversary in August. The restaurant offers a wide variety of BBQ sandwiches, nachos, bowls, BBQ by the pound, various sides, desserts and a large selection of craft beer.Alamo Drafthouse

The Austin-based theater chain has been acquired by Sony Pictures Entertainment. The dine-in theater franchise was founded in 1997 by Tim and Karrie League. Since then, Alamo has launched dozens of theaters around 25 cities, with five locations now in the Austin area.Michelin Guide

Buca di Beppo

The national Italian franchise filed for bankruptcy with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas on Aug. 5. In the bankruptcy documents, the franchise stated they have been seeing a decrease in profits since the beginning of 2021. They closed 18 locations in 2024, including 12 in July. Two of these locations are in the Austin area, with one in North Austin on Tudor Boulevard.
