A new Dollar Tree store is slated to open in East Austin off Airport Boulevard. The international discount chain sells items at a primary price point of $1.25. Nonprofit Lifeworks celebrated the groundbreaking of a new affordable housing development for youth Oct. 10. The housing is paired with onsite support services including case management, mental health care, education and workforce pathways.Relocations

Tagine Moroccan Cuisine

The East Austin food truck relocated to a new spot off East Cesar Chavez. The business serves Moroccan street food, including chicken, lamb and tagines, gyros, and Moroccan sausage, known as merguez. Additional menu items include chicken, kefta kabob and vegan wraps. Owner Aziz Kabb, who is a Morocco native, first opened the food truck in May 2024.

The master planned development designed to support those leaving chronic homelessness is celebrating 10 years of serving the community and placing them into permanent homes. Behind the development is nonprofit Mobile Loaves & Fishes.Juan in a Million

East Austin Mexican restaurant Juan in a Million celebrated its 45th anniversary in July. Juan in a Million was started by Austin school teachers Juan and Myrna Meza in 1980. The business is still owned and operated by the Meza family 45 years later, General Manager Juan Meza said, who is the son of Juan and Myrna Meza. The restaurant serves Mexican breakfast and lunch food using homemade recipes, including breakfast plates, tacos, enchiladas nachos and quesadillas.Dharma Yoga

Self-proclaimed Austin’s longest-running yoga studio, Dharma Yoga is celebrating its 20th anniversary this November. Founded by Keith Kachtick, the studio blends classical Indian yoga and Tibetan Buddhism, has trained more than 700 instructors, and continues to serve a diverse Austin community with classes for all experience levels.
