The Boiling Crab


The chain restaurant opened at the Linc and began offering customizable seafood boils ranging from crab to shrimp, lobster, clams, mussels and crawfish. Diners choose their protein, a flavor—such as Rajun Cajun, garlic sauce or lemon pepper, and a spice level to create their boil. Emancipet Dental and Surgical Center


Nonprofit veterinary care provider Emancipet will open its first low-cost clinic designed to accommodate a large number of dentistry and surgical procedures. In its 25th year, Emancipet provides affordable options, such as soft tissue surgeries, dental cleaning, extractions and more.In the news


Northwest Montessori House of Children


The preschool will celebrate its 40th anniversary May 18. The school offers educational programming for children ages 18 months-6 years. Extracurricular activities at Northwest Montessori include gymnastics, Spanish language classes, chess, robotics and dance.The Children’s Center of Austin

The team at the locally owned and family-operated preschool and child care facility celebrated its 25th year of providing early education and child care in March. CCOA offers a range of early education programs with individualized curricula, after-school programs and more. Two campuses are available in the Austin area, and both feature controlled access in and out of the facility, separate classrooms and shaded playgrounds, in addition to areas for art, swimming and other extracurricular activities.

Closings

Sew Much More

After forty years, owners Ron and Barbara Goldkorn retired and closed the sewing store. Sew Much More offered sewing supplies, machines, fabrics and furniture like sewing cabinets, embroidery caddies and more. On April 30, Poppy Quilt N Sew will start accepting SMM customers’ maintenance plans, as well as welcoming some of the former SMM employees to the team.
