Portions of MoPac will be closed this evening, Oct. 18, according to an update from the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority released earlier today. The agency has said most paving work will be done this week.
Southbound MoPac
The right, middle and exit lanes of southbound MoPac will be closed overnight from 45th to Fifth streets.
There will be a rolling closure from Parmer Lane to RM 2222.
The left and middle lanes will also be closed from RM 2222 to 45th Street from about 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Additionally, the following southbound ramps will be closed overnight, from about 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.: 35th Street on- and off-ramps; Westover Road on- and off-ramps; Windsor Road off-ramp; Enfield Road off-ramp; Steck Avenue on-ramp; 45th Street on- and off-ramps; and Winsted Lane on-ramp.
Northbound MoPac
The left lane of northbound MoPac from Lady Bird Lake to the Lady Bird Lake Express Lane Entrance will be closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The right and middle lanes will be closed from Enfield Road to Westover Road from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Other closures
For approximately the next three weeks, the left lane of westbound Windsor Road will be closed at MoPac. The eastbound lane will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. as the contractor patches the asphalt. The westbound right lane near the Cesar Chavez on-ramp will be closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Project background
The MoPac Improvement Project is adding an express lane in each direction on an 11-mile stretch of MoPac, also known as Loop 1, between Parmer Lane and Lady Bird Lake. The project is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
