The Georgetown Center for Adult Medicine welcomed Nurse Practitioner Samantha Graef in early 2016 to help with a growing patient demand.

Dawna Hansen, St. David’s HealthCare primary care market manager, said the clinic has seen demand increase and the number of new patient appointments rising quickly. The clinic is affiliated with St. David’s HealthCare.

“We had an abundance of patients in the area who were searching for primary care providers,” she said.

The clinic has seen about 1,800 patient visits as of April 30 and had about 440-450 patients per month this year, Hansen said.

“We actually doubled our staff when we moved [into the new clinic space in January],” Hansen said, adding that the health care provider is considering bring in additional providers in the future. “We are currently recruiting the right physician for the community.”

The center has two doctors—Drs. Paula Bordelon and Saramma George—specializing in care for patients typically age 55 and older who either have or are transitioning to Medicare.

The clinic is also still taking new patients and planning an open house event for the fall, Hansen said.
