1. Dedicated left-turn lane

Construction will finish in late December on a left-turn lane into the Austin Board of Realtors’ property at 4800 Spicewood Springs Road and other drainage upgrades. ABoR is contributing $310,864 toward the project, which aims to relieve congestion on the two-lane roadway.

2. US 183 frontage roads

The Texas Department of Transportation will resurface the US 183 frontage roads from Anderson Mill Road to McNeil Drive.

3. MoPac construction

In December crews are pouring concrete for the southbound express lane underpass. On the northbound side near Cesar Chavez and Sixth streets, work continues to pave the new ramp where traffic will shift in mid- to late January and when main lanes will be reduced to two lanes.

4. Parmer Lane resurfacing

TxDOT is seeking bids in December on a project to repair and resurface Parmer Lane from SH 45 N to the Travis County line just north of McNeil Drive.

5. Trail construction

Construction on the Northern Walnut Creek Trail (A) Phase 1A, which includes a redesign of about a half mile of trail from Amherst Drive near Balcones District Park to MoPac, will begin in the summer on the southern end. Construction on the northern end will start in 2017. Work on (B) Phase 1, a 2.5-mile-long trail segment from MoPac to Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park, will be substantially complete in early 2016.

6. Trail planning

The second phase of the Northern Walnut Creek Trail will be 1.8 miles long from the Walnut Creek park to I-35 at Walnut Creek. The project is under design, and the city will hold another public meeting in early 2016.
