The Daily Brew’s chai latte is one of the most popular drinks on the menu, made with tea, steamed milk and mixed spices, including hints of cinnamon and nutmeg.
However, customers might not be as familiar with more caffeinated dirty chai, owner Susan Bond said. Dirtying up the drink requires adding either one or two shots of espresso, she said.
“A lot of people like chai in general, but we are told we do a good balance of sweet and subtle spice,” Bond said. “The espresso doesn’t detract from the flavor at all.”
Bond recommends a hot latte for the upcoming winter months, but the dirty chai can be purchased hot or cold year-round. Almond and soy milk can be substituted for customers who are intolerant to dairy.
