Updated 9:50 p.m. With 51 of 52 precincts reporting, Ann Snyder has won The Woodlands Township board Position 6, over Matthew Burton, Chuck Meyer and Paul Brown. The Position 6 winner replaces Peggy Hausman who has served on the board since 2008. Snyder garnered 5,820 votes, or 47.5 percent with Matthew Burton coming in a close second with 5,302 votes, or 43.3 percent. Chuck Meyer trailed with 615 votes, or 5 percent, and Paul Brown with 520, or 4.2 percent. Snyder said the winning strategy was her grass roots involvement in The Woodlands.

"I’ve been involved with the community for a long time, and I’ve worked very hard to be elected," she said.

Township board positions carry two-year terms. Snyder, a 26-year resident of The Woodlands, is CEO and president of Interfaith of The Woodlands, has served as a Conroe ISD board of trustee member and was chairwoman of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce board. She was named one of Houston’s Most Influential Women in 2015. "I am excited to get the Board to work together to make good things happen," Snyder said. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
