The Dallas Cowboys, Frisco ISD, the city of Frisco and Ford Motor Company announced Sept. 11 the new Dallas Cowboys world headquarters and multiuse events center will now be called The Ford Center at The Star. Along with the new name comes a long-term sponsorship agreement.
The complex is scheduled to open next summer and will host local high school football games in the fall.
“With each milestone in this project, we celebrate the partnership and feel the excitement and anticipation that is growing daily,” said Richard Wilkinson, FISD deputy superintendent for business services. “This time next year, we will be cheering on our students as they perform and compete in this world-class facility; and the community will be welcoming the Cowboys to their new home. As this announcement brings another member to the table, we know it only enhances the many opportunities and successes our students will enjoy through this ongoing relationship.”
The facility will be home to all Dallas Cowboys football operations and practice fields. It will also include a 12,000-seat multipurpose indoor stadium to be used by the city of Frisco, Frisco ISD and the Dallas Cowboys.
