Frisco City Council at its Aug. 18 meeting approved a design contract for the second phase of Ruff Range Dog Park. The second phase will expand the existing dog park at B.F. Phillips Community Park on 4th Army Drive. The original plan for the dog park included two large dog areas and one small dog area, but only one large dog area was installed during construction because of lack of funding. Adding a second large dog area would allow the city to switch usage between the two areas, which would mean grass in one area could recover while the other is in use. The park expansion will include water stations, a covered pavilion, benches and other dog park amenities.
