Multiple lanes of traffic along I-45 will be closed from 8 p.m. July 24 to 6 a.m. July 27 as crews continue work on construction of segments F-1, F-2 and G of the Grand Parkway.
According to the Grand Parkway Association, the northbound main lanes of I-45 from FM 2920 to the Grand Parkway and the southbound main lanes from Rayford Road to the Grand Parkway will be closed for the weekend. The Zachry-Odebrecht partnership, which is constructing the three segments of the toll road, is closing the lanes to perform pavement expansion and drainage work along the highway.
Traffic will be detoured onto the I-45 feeder roads.
Segment F-2, which will stretch from Hwy. 249 to just east of I-45, is expected to be completed later this year along with segments F-1 and G of the tollway. All three segments will connect Houston's third outer loop from Hwy. 290 to Hwy. 59 when completed. The $1 billion is being funded by the Texas Department of Transportation.
Hwy. 290 will also see lane closures July 25-26 as work continues along the highway, the Grand Parkway Association said. Crews working on Segment F-1 will install concrete railing at the interchange of the tollway with Hwy. 290, which will require the daily closure of eastbound main lanes from Roberts Road to Mason Road from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. July 25-26.
Traffic along Hwy. 290 will be detoured to the highway's feeder roads.
