Outdoor Aquatic Center to open after weather delays The Preston Plunge, a 45-foot-tall slide, is one of the main features of the expansion.[/caption]

After two delays because of inclement weather, the Frisco ’s Outdoor Aquatic Center is expected to debut its expansion June 13.

Several new features have been added to the center.

The Preston Plunge is a 45-foot-tall, four-lane slide made for side-by-side racing. The Fort is a multilevel interactive water playground with slides and more than 85 spray features.

The Lazy River has been extended by 300 linear feet and winds around the park. Shade structures, party pavilions, a concession stand and restroom round out the $6 million expansion, funded by the Frisco Community Development Corp.

Frisco’s other water recreation options, three spray parks, opened for the season May 15. The parks include: J.R. Newman, 8211 Twin Falls Drive; Shepherds Glen, 12012 Shepherds Hill Drive; and Frisco Commons, 8000 McKinney Road. The parks are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
