Littlefield Lofts will house 24 vacation rental properties across from historic Driskell Hotel.[/caption]Newly remodeled vacation rental lofts Littlefield Quarters, which are located across from the historic Driskill Hotel, are slated to reopen in June with a new name.
Littlefield Lofts, a project by Top Trip Rentals, will house 24 lofts at 119 E. Sixth St. for those vacationing in Austin. The site's exterior underwent a multimillion dollar remodel to add in modern glass facade, according to a news release.
"There is nothing like this in Austin right now," said Chereen Fisher, Top Trip Rentals owner, in a news release. "You can stay in a 900-square-foot pied--terre in the heart of downtown for the same price as a small hotel room. With the creation of Littlefield Lofts, Top Trip Rentals provides a better way to stay in our vibrant city center for a night, week, or longer at multiple price points."
Top Trip Rentals manages 36 other vacation properties mostly within the city's central business district, according to a news release.

COMING SOON—A second frozen banana stand from Bananarchy is in the works, with the business trying to raise $17,000 to pay for a location in the North Loop or Burnet corridors. The Bananarchy Kickstarter page showed $10,021 of the goal was raised by early April 15. The original stand will continue to operate at 603 W. Live Oak St. when the second stand opens June 17.
COMING SOON—University House Austin, a 20-story student community, is currently undergoing construction that is slated to finish in time for the fall 2016 semester. The apartment building at 21st and San Antonio streets will house 188 apartments and 504 beds and various amenities for residents.
RELOCATIONS—Scooter and motorcycle repair shop Urban Motorsports will move to 1402 Hether St. in May from its South Lamar Boulevard location. The move comes because of the need for more space to provide more same day repairs, apparel, accessories and performance parts. 512-535-6144.
ANNIVERSARIES—Kerbey Lane Cafe is celebrating 35 years of business in Austin the month of May. The various locations of the business will host different events during the month and donate some of its proceeds to United Way for Greater Austin. The restaurant is known for its queso, pancakes and focus on natural and local ingredients.
IN THE NEWS—Sometime during the night of April 5, Evil Weiner's generator was stolen. Through a Kickstarter campaign, Evil Weiner asked for $7,500 to get a new generator to continue operating the business. As of April 15, $5,260 of that goal had been raised, according to the fundraising page, but a new generator was ordered April 8 and installed by April 10, according to Evil Weiner's Facebook page.
