Brendon Payne, the president of the Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce, died on March 2. He was 47 years old.

According to a chamber news release from the board of directors, Payne had a heart attack on the evening of March 1. He went into emergency surgery, but even after surgery doctors were unable to save him. He died the next morning.

Funeral services were held at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. He was interred in the Holly Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Granbury.

Payne was elected to president in December. He is the past president of the North Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives Association and also served as a past board member for the TCCE, past president of the Saginaw Kiwanis Club, and vice president and public relations for the Northwest Tarrant Toastmasters.
