The Georgetown Police Department began moving into the new Public Safety Operations and Training Center on Feb. 2.
The facility, located at 3500 D.B. Wood Road, will serve as the new home for the police department as well as Georgetown Fire Department administration, the city’s Emergency Operations Center and the Emergency Communications Center. The campus features a training center with movable partitions and observation catwalks as well as an outdoor classroom and slow-speed driving track. The 76,000-square-foot main building features offices, evidence storage, crime scene processing and a physical agility training room. The $29.5 million facility was funded through voter-approved bonds.
