Missouri City City Council named William Eisen to serve as its interim city manager at a Jan. 26 special meeting.

Eisen will replace City Manager Ed Broussard who left Missouri City on Feb. 6 to begin his new role as city manager for Tyler. Tyler City Council appointed Broussard at its Dec. 22 special meeting.

"I am honored to have had the opportunity to serve the citizens in partnership with City Council and an exemplary team of public servants," Broussard said. "My family and I will always cherish our Missouri City memories."

Prior to his appointment as interim city manager for Missouri City, Eisen served as city manager for the city of Pearland from 2001–2013. As the Pearland city manager, Eisen worked alongside the Pearland Economic Development Corporation to help bring 1,500 jobs to the city.

Eisen was the city manager for the city of Rockwall from 1984–1993 before stepping in as the city manager in Haltom City from 1993–2001. Eisen has also served as a member of the Gulf Coast Water Authority Board of Directors and the Economic Development Alliance of Brazoria County Board of Directors.

Missouri City is holding a nationwide search to find a permanent replacement for Broussard, according to city officials.
