Big decisions made in 2015
- New superintendent: Following a thorough selection process, the district named Rodney Watson the district's ninth superintendent of schools June 23.
- Comprehensive audit, data gathering: Spring ISD went through a thorough assessment to identify strengths and challenges. The district commissioned a nonprofit to audit the district while Watson conducted an extensive listening tour.

Board of trustees meetings are held at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at
the Gordon M. Anderson Leadership Center, 16717 Ella Blvd., Houston.
Top issues for 2015
- Five-year plan: The district will start drafting a five-year plan in January designed to improve the district's low-performing schools, improve student achievement, strengthen academic options and choices and ensure safety at all campuses.
- Corrective action plan: The academics office has begun work on a plan that responds to the areas of improvement outlined in the district's recent external audit report and the Texas Education Agency's requirements.

Spring ISD board trustees are unpaid and serve in rotating three-year terms.
