With all votes counted, unofficial results confirm Mark Williams has unseated Place 1 incumbent trustee Tim Mahoney.

Also, Gigi Edwards Bryant and Jade Chang Sheppard led a six-candidate field to fill the Place 2 seat. Because neither candidate garnered more than 50 percent of the vote, Bryant and Sheppard will meet in a Dec. 16 runoff election to decide who replaces outgoing trustee John-Michael Cortez.

Place 3 trustee Nan McRaven ran unopposed.

Mark Williams: 84,324 votes, or 53.3 percent

Tim Mahoney: 73,877 votes, or 46.7 percent

ACC Place 2

Gigi Edwards Bryant: 47,122 votes, or 31.09 percent

Jade Chang Sheppard: 39,132 votes, or 25.82 percent

Bob Allen: 29,414 votes, or 19.4 percent

Michael J. Lewis: 16,627 votes, or 10.97 percent

Johnathan Mathers: 13,022 votes, or 8.59 percent

Robb J. Misso: 6,256 votes, or 4.13 percent

Place 3

Nan McRaven: unopposed

Mark Williams continues to lead incumbent Tim Mahoney for the Austin Community College Place 1 board seat, according to voting totals in Travis and Williamson counties.

In addition, the same totals show Gigi Edwards Bryant and Jade Chang Sheppard appear likely to head toward a run-off election Dec. 16.

ACC's district includes six counties total. Here are voting totals for Travis and Williamson counties so far:

Tim Mahoney—59,817 votes

Mark Williams—63,383 votes

Place 2:

Robert (Bob) Allen—23,548 votes

Gigi Edwards Bryant—38,609 votes

Michael J. Lewis—13,163 votes

Jonathan G. Mathers—10,384 votes

Robert (Robb) J. Misso—3,972 votes

Jade Chang Sheppard—32,235 votes


Two Austin Community College board of trustees seats are in the hands of voters, and an additional board member is running unopposed for another term.

According to Nov. 4 early voting results from Travis, Williamson and Hays counties, incumbent Tim Mahoney is trailing his attempt to keep the Place 1 board seat with 39,544 votes. Challenger Mark Williams, a former Austin ISD board member, has 46,664 votes.

Mahoney, an attorney, was first elected to the board in 2008.

Gigi Edwards Bryant leads a six-person race to fill the Place 2 seat vacated by outgoing trustee John-Michael Cortez with 25,726 votes. Jade Chang Sheppard is in second place with 21,996 votes, and the rest of the field has garnered a combined 28,306 votes.

A third race has already been decided, with Place 3 trustee Nan McRaven running unopposed. She retains the ACC board seat she has held since 2002. Her tenure includes stints as board chairwoman and vice chairwoman.
