Round Rock ISD is offering assistance to students and parents in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, during February and March.

FAFSA is offered through the U.S. Department of Education and is the largest financial aid provider in the nation. Completing the application allows students to be eligible for grants, scholarships, student loans and work-study opportunities when they attend college. Because financial aid opportunities might be limited later in the year, the ideal time to complete and submit the FAFSA is before March 15, according to RRISD. The district is hosting the following events to help with completing the application:

Feb. 18 from 6–8:30 p.m. at Round Rock High School, 300 Lake Creek Drive, Round Rock

Feb. 22 from 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at Stony Point High School, 1801 Tiger Trail, Round Rock

March 1 from 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at Cedar Ridge High School, 2801 Gattis School Road, Round Rock

Trained volunteers with the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce will provide assistance to families at the events. Parents and students are asked to bring pertinent information, such as recent IRS federal tax return information, and parent and student Social Security and driver's license numbers. Students are also asked to bring a list of colleges he or she is interested in attending.
