Chicken finger specialist Raising Cane's intends to open its first Austin location Halloween day as scheduled despite heavy rainfall to sweep the area overnight.
The festivities for the grand opening celebration at 415 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near The Drag have been delayed until further notice, however, the Louisiana-based fast casual chain will open as planned.
"Austin has been on our radar for years, but we've been waiting for the right location to become available," CEO Todd Graves said in a statement. "It's an amazing city that has continued to expand rapidly, and we look forward to contributing to this growth."
Raising Cane's opens its doors at 10 a.m. Oct. 31 with a menu consisting primarily of chicken finger meals.
The company, first founded in 1996, entered the Austin-area market in September 2012 on FM 1431 in Cedar Park across from the 1890 Ranch shopping center. The restaurant also has multiple locations in the Dallas and Houston metropolitan areas.
