St. David's HealthCare will open its fourth freestanding emergency room in Central Texas in 2014 at Lakeline Market retail center, 14016 N. US 183.

The freestanding emergency room will be nearly 10,500 square feet and will include 12 medical exam rooms and advanced testing capabilities such as radiological testing and a medical lab. St. David's began preparing for construction on the facility Oct. 28 and plans to open the facility in the second quarter of 2014.

St. David's expects to hire 25 employees—all of whom will be board-certified emergency medicine physicians affiliated with St. David's and nurses who are trained in trauma care. The emergency center is in need of nurses, imaging personnel, laboratory personnel, registration staff and support personnel.

Deborah Ryle, CEO of St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, said the Lakeline Market location was chosen partially because of its close proximity to US 183, RM 620 and SH 45 N.

"St. David's HealthCare chose this area as the location for its fourth freestanding emergency center due to its population density and the recent growth within the region," she said. "Additionally, Lakeline Market—the retail complex where the emergency center will be built—is anchored by well-established businesses, such as H-E-B and the Alamo Drafthouse."
