Williamson County is scheduled to hold a household hazardous waste cleanup Oct. 6.

Acceptable items include:

Acids

Antifreeze

Batteries

Cell phones and telephones

Cleaning products such as polish, oven cleaner, drain opener and stain remover

Electronics (computers, fax machines, monitors and printers)

Lawn and garden chemicals, herbicides and pesticides

Used motor oil and filters

Transmission and brake fluid

Household products labeled "caution," "warning" or "poison"

Paint, lighter fluid, solvents and varnish

Pool chemicals

TVs (must be working, no wooden consoles or large-screen TVs)

Unacceptable items include:

Agriculture chemicals

Asbestos-containing material

Dioxins

Containers larger than 5 gallons

Explosives/fireworks/ammunition

Industrial or commercial/business waste

Medical and pharmaceutical items

No compressed gases

No propane cylinders of any kind

Radioactive materials

Tires

Guidelines:

If possible, bring products in original containers

Do not mix or consolidate products

Separate and group your items prior to drop-off and label them

Let volunteers help unload your items

Properly seal containers to prevent leaking

Haul containers in trunk or back of vehicle, away from passengers

Only go through the line one time

No trailers longer than 16 feet will be accepted
