A rededication ceremony will be held at the Nathan Chapman Memorial, located at the corner of Fourth and Forest streets in Georgetown, at 4 p.m. Sept. 10, the day before the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Since its construction in 2005, plaques honoring service members with ties to Williamson County who were killed in the War on Terror have been placed around the memorial, which commemorates Sgt. 1st Class Nathan Chapman, the first soldier killed in the war. Four more plaques honoring Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Brian K. Lundy, Army Sgt. Paul A. Rivera, Army Sgt. Adam Cody Huckstep and Army Spc. Alex Hernandez III will be placed during the ceremony.

Air Force Col. Pat McCaslin will be the event's featured speaker, and all veterans organizations and the general public are invited to attend.
