The Lone Star College-Montgomery Center for the Arts is showing a production of "Peter Pan: The Musical" this weekend at the college.
The musical is Piers Chater Robinson's 1985 adaption of J.M. Barrie's classic book. Today, 25 years later, Robinson's production is performed worldwide and features well-known characters such as Peter Pan, Wendy, John, Michael, Captain Hook and his sidekick Smee, Tiger Lily, and other characters.
"You'll see all of your favorite characters, Peter Pan, Wendy, the Lost Boys," said Denise Meyers, program director. "And the set is beautiful."
Meyers said many of the costumes are on loan from the Alley Theater.
Playing Peter Pan is Sarah Barchie, while Tanner Bench portrays Captain Hook and Woodlands High School alum Catherine Zirelli takes on the role of Wendy, Peter Pan's sister. The show is directed by Chase Waites, chair of the LSC-Montgomery drama department.
The production will kick off with a free preview for LSC-Montgomery students, staff and faculty on July 11 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the public are $7. Regular production runs July 12–14 with shows at 7:30 p.m. There will be a 2:30 p.m. matinee on July 14.
Tickets are $7 for students, faculty and staff, $10 seniors 55 and over, and $15 general admission. Tickets are available online through www.mycommunityevents.com or at the theater box office.
Lone Star College-Montgomery is located at 3200 College Park Drive.
