The nonprofit organization Family Eldercare has launched its 2012 Summer Fan Drive with the Georgetown Fire Department to collect fans for low-income Georgetown residents including seniors, people with disabilities and families with children.

The organization is in need of new 20-inch box fans or 12-inch or larger oscillating fans. The nonprofit will also accept funds with checks payable to Family Eldercare.

Fans can be dropped off through Sept. 30 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive. Fans are also being accepted at all four Georgetown fire stations through Aug. 31. Visit www.fire.georgetown.org/operations/stations for station locations.

The Caring Place, 2000 Railroad St., is also accepting fan donations through July 31. Those donations are being distributed at The Caring Place on Tuesdays from 9 a.m.–noon and 12:30–3:30 p.m.
