Eric Pav, a member of the Round Rock ISD bond oversight committee, said June 25 he would run for Place 7 on the school district's board of trustees, the seat currently held by Bobby Seiferman. Seiferman announced in April that he would not run for re-election.

Pav lives in Round Rock with his wife and three sons, and has worked at Dell Inc. since 2004, where he is test engineering director.

"The school district is going to be faced with increasing financial and academic challenges in the coming years as more and more decisions are pushed to the local districts due to a lack of state funding and mandates," Pav said in a statement. "My goal is to make sure the district remains fiscally responsible, while providing our schools with the resources needed so our students can compete nationally and internationally for jobs and college admissions."

Pav was not immediately available for additional comment.

On June 21, board President Chad Chadwell said he would run to keep his Place 2 seat.

Places 2 and 7 are the only ones up for election in November. The terms for trustees elected in 2012 will end in 2016.
