The Art Expo returns to The Woodlands for its seventh year beginning June 26 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, located at 1601 Lake Robbins Drive. The event includes two components, instructional classes for which registration is required and an exhibit that is free and open to the public.
Tim Mulvey, president of Artist Expo, said this year's event features about 100 classes taught by more than 65 teachers from across the U.S. The classes begin on June 26 and run throughout the day and evening. The classes offer instructions on techniques and composition. While online registration is closed, Mulvey said those interested in attending classes may still register on Monday at the hotel.
"The purpose of [the Art Expo] is to get all different types of artists involved," Mulvey said.
Beginning on June 28, the Art Expo features more than 35 exhibitors from across the country showcasing a vast array of art in a variety of formats. The art exhibit will be open June 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and June 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Mulvey said the primary attraction at this year's Art Expo will be Dalhart Windberg, well known for his landscape and still life paintings. Windberg will be providing demonstrations of his techniques while his paintings are on display. He will be at the Expo June 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and June 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
