Traffic light coming to LRMC main entrance
On April 16, Lakeway City Council approved a resolution that will lead to a traffic light at the main entrance to the Lakeway Regional Medical Center.
The traffic light at the intersection of RR 620 and Flint Rock Road will be paid for by the developer of the LRMC campus. The traffic light will cost the developer approximately $180,000, City Manager Steve Jones said.
City Council had to approve the resolution since the Texas Department of Transportation cannot enter into an agreement with a private corporation to install a traffic signal, Jones said.
Several council members said the traffic signal is necessary for the acute care hospital that opened April 16 at 100 Medical Parkway. Jones said it could be weeks or months before the signal is installed.
"It's crazy not to get it as soon as we can," Councilman Alan Tye said.
