The city of New Braunfels on Aug. 17 will host a public input meeting regarding the preliminary design proposed for the extension of Waterway Lane from Gruene Road to Common Street.

During the meeting, attendees will be able to see designs of the project that have been proposed to alleviate traffic on Hanz Drive and congestion at the intersection of Common Street and Gruene Road.

“This is an opportunity for residents to better understand what’s planned, ask questions, and give input for consideration to the final design of this future connector roadway to Gruene Road and Common Street,” said Greg Malatek, public works director for the city of New Braunfels in a press release.

Designs of the project will include lane configurations, bike lanes, sidewalk locations and layouts of the connecting intersection.

The meeting will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. at Gruene United Methodist Church, 2629 E. Common St., and those interested can find more information about the project online.
