Jenna Vinson was hired by the city of New Braunfels to be its first Director of Communications and Community Engagement, and began working for the city on April 6.

Vinson's new department is responsible for media relations, digital content, social media and marketing. She will also oversee the development of strategies for increased input and engagement from residents, according to a press release from the city.

Vinson holds a bachelors degree in mass communications and most recently worked for the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce as Vice President of Advocacy and Outreach. She has more than 10 years of experience in communications and public relations with a focus on nonprofits.

“Jenna will serve an important role as part of the City’s leadership team and interface with the media and public. The importance of our ability to engage with our customers and communicate the City’s message has grown over the years and is a critical component of what we do today,” said City Manager Robert Camareno in the press release. “Jenna comes to us uniquely qualified to lead this new effort for the City.”
