A public meeting about Phase 1 of the Dry Comal Creek Trail project will take place Aug. 24 from 6 to 7 p.m. at New Braunfels City Hall, 550 Landa St. The meeting will give residents the opportunity to review and give feedback on the current design plans before construction begins.

“The design for Phase 1 of the Dry Comal Creek Trail project is currently about a third of the way complete,” Transportation and Capital Improvements Director Garry Ford said. “This public open house gives residents the opportunity to review the plans so far and to tell us what they hope to see as the plans continue through the design process ahead of construction, which is expected to begin in 2025.”

According to a news release from the city, the project's first phase will construct a 10-foot concrete multiuse path along the Dry Comal Creek connecting Walnut Avenue to Landa Park. The project has received design funding from the New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation and federal funding for construction through the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization.
