On Sept. 11, the city of New Braunfels will hold a ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The event will begin at 7:35 a.m., when members of the New Braunfels Fire Department and the New Braunfels Police Department Honor Guard will march from the downtown Central Fire Station on Hill Avenue to the Main Plaza.

At approximately 7:46 a.m. the ceremony will begin at the Main Plaza and will include the raising and lowering of the American flag to half-staff, an invocation, remarks from local dignitaries, and a performance by the New Braunfels Firefighters Pipes and Drums.

Traffic around the Main Plaza will be closed from 7:30-8:15 a.m., and those wishing to attend the event should gather around the flagpole and bandstand on the plaza.

The event will also be available online on the city of New Braunfels Facebook page for those who cannot attend in person.
