The New Braunfels ISD board of trustees will host its monthly board meeting June 29 at 7 p.m. through Zoom video conferencing.

Trustees and the board president will be physically present at one location for the meeting, and members of the public will be able to access the meeting online.

The board will discuss the finalized NBISD 2020-21 budget, the hiring schedule for the 2020-21 school year and the completion of staff cybersecurity training.

Other notable items to be considered by the board include:
  • the Pre-K Head Start partnership and tuition increase;
  • revisions made to the NBISD 2020-21 calendar in accordance with new TEA recommendations;
  • a resolution to invoke exigency/emergency procurement procedures for all COVID-19-related purchases; and
  • a report on the addition of Physics 1 to the Texas OnRamps course offerings at New Braunfels High School for the 2020-21 school year.
On June 18, Abbott announced that students will return to public schools for in-person instruction in the fall, and TEA guidelines released June 23 mandate that districts must offer some form of on-campus instruction.
