Final security upgrades are being installed at all 13 NBISD campuses, and the project is on track to be completed in February with systems being fully implemented by the end of April.
The project is part of the NBISD 2018 bond package, which included $6.6 million for improving security throughout the district.
Security upgrades include card readers, electronic door locks, security bollards at campus drop-off/pickup areas, security cameras at all elementary schools and ballistic glass film at campus entryways.
