Update: CISD and NBISD school closures extended through May 4

Updated 2:25 p.m., March 31

During a press conference on March 31, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that public schools in Texas will remain closed through May 4 in an effort to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

On Tuesday, March 24, Comal ISD and New Braunfels ISD extended school closures through Friday, April 24.

The districts joined other San Antonio area school districts in extending the closures in an effort to protect the health and safety of the community during the coronavirus pandemic.


Both NBISD and CISD will continue to provide free meal service and online learning opportunities for students during the closures.
