Comal ISD Superintendent Andrew Kim was recently appointed to the Texas Education Agency's Policy Committee on Public Education Information. The appointment was made by TEA Commissioner of Education Mike Morath.

The committee serves as an advisory group to oversee policy issues related to data and information collections that support the educational needs of students. It also identifies essential resources for Texas educators to use in the classroom, campus and at the district level.

“We work very hard in Comal ISD to be efficient in all areas of our work," Kim said. "I believe that the effort Comal ISD puts forth in our financial and resource management is the reason for my appointment. I appreciate the opportunity to share some of Comal ISD’s best practices at the state level.”

During the next year, the PCPEI committee will review and approve current and ongoing information collections, as well as recommend policies that promote data quality.
