New Braunfels residents can honor a veteran with an inscribed brick that will be permanently installed at the newly opened New Braunfels Veteran’s Memorial, located in front of the New Braunfels Police Department Headquarters at 3030 W. San Antonio St.

The bricks are available for purchase for $150 per commemorative paver and will feature the service member’s name and military service information. To be installed before the city’s Veterans Day ceremony, brick orders must be received before Oct. 1, according to the city of New Braunfels.

“The New Braunfels Veteran’s Memorial was created to recognize the service that members of our community have given to our country. Each branch of the military is represented on the exterior walls including Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, and Space Force. The interior walls of the memorial honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country and includes special recognition for Gold Star Families,” the city of New Braunfels said in a press release.

Members of the public can recommend veterans for inclusion on the memorial wall. To be eligible for consideration, the veteran being nominated must be considered killed in action or missing in action, and have been considered a legal resident of Comal or Guadalupe County, according to the city of New Braunfels.

To nominate an eligible veteran, contact the New Braunfels Parks & Recreation Department at 830-221-4350. To reserve or purchase a commemorative brick visit
