A new kiosk at Das Rec offers a variety of books, DVDs and audiobooks.

In a March 15 news release, the city of New Braunfels announced the implementation of a book kiosk at Das Rec, located at 345 Landa St., New Braunfels.

The kiosk comes as a gift from the New Braunfels Public Library Foundation. It is a vending machine that may be accessed by library card holders and offers various genres of books, audiobooks and DVDs.

“It would be difficult to overstate how well-received Das Rec has been in the New Braunfels community,” Library Director Gretchen Pruett said. “It was the ideal location for the library’s book kiosk, and it will enhance the experiences of both library and Das Rec patrons. We cannot thank the foundation enough for supporting this vision.”

Items from the kiosk are available for standard library loan periods—three weeks for books and audiobooks and one week for DVDs.

The foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to secure private funding to meet the library’s needs for program development and improvement of services and facilities that are not normally met by public funding.

For more information about the book kiosk, contact the New Braunfels Public Library at 830-221-4300. The main library is located at 700 E. Common St. in New Braunfels.
