The New Braunfels location, which opened in 2021, sold puppies from breeders.
According to previous reporting by Community Impact, New Braunfels council members approved changes to an existing ordinance in October 2022 to include the prohibition of retail sales of pets within the city limits from a source other than an animal shelter or animal welfare organization. Puppyland had a year to comply with the ordinance and to keep records on the animals they sold for up to a year.
