For the 32nd year,
New Braunfels Utilities has been awarded the
Government Finance Officers Association’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending July 31, 2021.
The NBU Accounting Department has also been recognized with the Award of Financial Reporting Achievement. An impartial panel has judged NBU’s annual comprehensive financial report, and includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report, according to NBU.
“We are proud to be recognized by the GFOA for the 32nd consecutive year for NBU’s commitment to financial excellence and transparency,” NBU Chief Financial Officer Dawn Schriewer said. “Our accounting department works with teams across the organization to ensure the highest standards of fiscal accountability are met.”
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management, NBU said.
