HomeWell Care Services began operating in the New Braunfels community in July 2021. The business specializing in senior care has expanded to employ around 50 caregivers who work from clients' home or senior living facility and operates from South Austin to San Antonio.

Siblings Jeff Clark and Meredith Clark decided to open the business because they felt passionate about providing a high level of care to clients similar to what they would like for their own senior relatives.

“We provide activities of daily living for all of our clients, anything that can't do for themselves completely,” said Meredith Clark, owner and sales and marketing vice president. “[Which includes assistance with] bathing and grooming, errands, doctor's visits, meal preparation, light housekeeping and companionship.”

The certified nursing assistants who work with HomeWell are matched to families based on their skills and personality.

“We went into this with the idea that we wanted to provide a premium service,” owner and President Jeff Clark said. “We wanted to make sure that we set the we set the bar for how to care for our clients.”

HomeWell Care Services provides companion care, basic care and specialty care to their clients. The business provides support for family caregivers and an ongoing assessment and monitoring of care as well as acting as a liaison among clients, families and service providers.

“We are very particular about the people that we hire and that we put with our clients,” Jeff said. “We do everything possible to make sure that we live up to every commitment that we make for our clients.”

Jeff and Meredith said the hardest part of beginning to look for senior care is being honest about what the capabilities are of the senior and the families' capacity to care for them. They encourage seniors and families to do their research and know their options for finding the best care that can offer safety and support.

“We tend to be the eyes and ears for the family,” Meredith said. “So those 40 hours a week that we're with somebody, we're able to relay back to the family the reality of what is going on in the home and with their doctor's appointments and their medications. And so we want it to be a good connection personally; that would be most important.”
