The store, owned and operated by Shelly Peebles and Margaret Green, sells CBD and hemp products primarily from Texas-grown plants and Texas-based manufacturers.
Peebles said she and Green met at a women’s circle and soon began discussing what worked for chronic pain. Peebles said she was not sold on CBD products initially, having tried some that did not seem to help her.
“I found out I was taking something that, you know, really wasn't good,” Peebles said. “We decided to start our own business educating people on what good CBD products are, because I did try good CBD, and that actually did help me.”
Peebles essentially went back to school, earning a certification as a Ganjier—someone trained in the history, science, craft and consumption of cannabis, similar to a wine sommelier.
“I went into this program to learn more about the plant and to educate myself so that I could tell people the right information, because I didn't want to tell people anything that was wrong,” Peebles said.
Peebles will be a judge at the upcoming Taste of Texas Hemp Cup on Dec. 10 in Austin.
Flower Moon Botanicals carries products, such as Common Ground CBD tea blends, Tejas Hemp tonics and prerolls, tinctures, pet calming treats, and more.
“Most of the products that we carry are from small craft farmers in Texas. Some of the products that we get are sourced from out of state, but they're all small farmers. And that's what we're really all about: people that are putting the time and love and care into their products and the growing of the plants," Peebles said. "They are the products that seemed to work the best. So we've tried everything, like everything that we sell, and we support the smaller farms in the process.” www.flowermoonbotanicals.shop
