For 20 years Texas Ski Ranch has provided wakeboarding thrills and beach vibes close to home, tucked away off North I-35 in New Braunfels.

Thrill seekers and those looking to just hang out on a beach have steadily flocked to Texas Ski Ranch to enjoy the beach and try their hand at wakeboarding along a guided cable pulley system.

The cable lakes have a beginner’s cable system (Lil’ Bro) to learn from TSR’s coaches and staff, as well as a 2.0 system that has an ever-changing set of ramps and rails for the more adventurous wakeboarders that want to catch some air.

“The wakeboarding is what we’ve been known for for a long time,” said Max Bialick, general manager of Texas Ski Ranch.

Spanning over a 70 acre area, TSR also has a paintball park, the 15,000 square foot Palm Center for weddings and other events, Loki’s Axe Haus—target lanes for axe throwing and Ironsides Bar. Loki’s opened just last year and the Palm Center is relatively new.

Summer camps have gotten back underway, and their afterschool programs will be up and running this fall, Bialick said. The camps offer not just wakeboarding instruction but also paintball, scooter, skateboard and a variety of other aquatic and non aquatic outdoor activities.

Afterschool programs last Monday through Friday until 6 p.m. and also include arts and crafts and other indoor activities on rainy days. TSR offers a shuttle service from schools within ten miles of TSR that have enough participating students.

Live music restarted again five days a week, Bialick said, and except for occasional ticketed concerts for big name acts, it is free to come listen and hangout or sunbathe on the beach.
