The annual Wein and Saengerfest celebration is slated to return to downtown New Braunfels on May 7 for the first time since 2019.

In 2020, the festival was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and a modified version of the event was canceled in 2021 following severe weather conditions, according to the city.

Visitors are invited to enjoy live music; sample wine and craft beer from Texas-based vendors; participate in activities; and taste local food offerings, according to a city press release.

The event is free to attend, and alcohol tasting tickets and souvenir glasses are available for purchase. Individual wine tasting tickets are $2 each, one glass of wine is $8 and tasting packages range from $15-$25.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the New Braunfels Downtown Association and the New Braunfels Parks Foundation that work to support downtown enhancement projects.

The festival will begin at noon and will conclude at 10 p.m. For more information, visit the Wein and Saengerfest website.
