Residents are invited to help provide food and support for those who need a helping hand this holiday season.

The New Braunfels Food Bank and New Braunfels Utilities will collect nonperishable food items during the city's annual Wassailfest event Dec. 5. Goods can also be taken to NBU's Main Plaza Office through Dec. 6.

“As 2019 winds down and we reflect on the goodness we all have enjoyed, and on behalf of NBU, I encourage all who are able to donate during these community events,” NBU Executive Director of Communications Melissa Krause said in a press release. “Together we can make a difference in the lives of many during this season of giving."

The most requested food items at the New Braunfels Food Bank include:

  • peanut butter

  • beans

  • cereal

  • canned tuna

  • chili and soups

  • canned lunch meats

  • pet food

  • macaroni and cheese

  • baby food

  • diapers
