In a presentation to Leander City Council April 3, Capital Improvements Projects Program Manager Tony Bettis said the progress update was almost four years in the making.
Two-minute impact
A video Bettis played for council showed Raider Way has been expanded to a three lane road, lanes and crosswalks have been painted on the roadway and traffic is flowing in both directions.
Similarly, the video showed East Woodview Drive was open to traffic in both directions, and it had lanes and turn lanes painted and medians completed.
The project also added a roundabout at the intersection of East Woodview Drive and Raider Way.
What else?
The roads were improved from Crystal Falls Parkway to East Woodview Drive on Raider Way and from Raider Way to 183A Toll on East Woodview Drive.
An 8-foot shared use path for pedestrians and cyclists runs the length of the improvement project.
How we got here
Curb and gutter improvements that were part of the project were completed in October, according to previous reporting.
Bettis said on April 3 that City Council had originally approved the project in 2017.
