Downtown Austin’s newest taco eatery is serving tacos with bistec, pastor, chicken, chorizo, buche, tripa, lengua, nopal and mushrooms. Customers can also find quesadillas with various fillings, volcanes, burritos, loaded potatoes, tortas, nachos, alambres and tacotes. The space is family owned by Andy Mendez and Paola Abarca.

Construction on a new Hopdoddy Burger Bar is slated to begin in early January as part of the Gateway 29 development . Work is set to last until late June, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. Hopdoddy Burger Bar offers specialty burgers, fries, milkshakes, salads, fried chicken and alcoholic beverages, according to its website.

Subway, a national sandwich chain, has confirmed plans to open a new location in Kyle, bringing more fast-food options to the growing community. Construction of the 1,452-square-foot restaurant, scheduled to conclude construction by Jan. 29, will cost approximately $175,000, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
