After about a two-year run, Whiskey Barrel Pub officially closed in downtown Liberty Hill on June 14.

The owners made an announcement via Facebook on June 14 about the pub’s permanent closure. They attributed the closing to “facing a few operational decisions that have a long-term business impact.”

“The time and attention required to make this small business successful and of high quality to our customers is far more than we anticipated,” the owners said in the Facebook post.

Future plans for the pub have not been made public. The owners did not immediately respond to Community Impact’s request for comment.

Whiskey Barrel Pub’s menu offered brisket mac and cheese, fish and chips, Cajun-style alfredo pasta, fried mushrooms, gumbo and more. The pub also sold a variety of beers, wines and featured drinks including a Mexican Martini, an Old Fashioned and a strawberry limeade.
